Message	i found this picture via search (it's not mine), but it helps illustrate. in the picture, (4) is the theft warning control unit, and when installed it's mounted above (higher up on the firewall) the power steering control unit, which is labeled as (3). i think it's (3) that you're asking about. no? i am a bit familiar with the theft warning control unit since i was playing with it a few weeks ago. when you mentioned that your mystery box was the size of a pocket novel with two leads, it made me thing you were actually looking at the power steering unit, but to be clear i don't have any experience with that unit. before responding i followed up with my fsm, however, and i feel very confident that i am not steering you wrong (no pun intended -- really). andrew davidoff
